Prices are in US dollars and include applicable taxes. Monthly plans refresh at each billing date; yearly plans and gifted plans refresh every 30 days. Gifted credit is discretionary and not guaranteed. MediCrab is in beta and plans may change; the app shows your current allowance.

Questions about pricing

Can I use MediCrab without paying anything?

Yes, with your own API key or a Codex / Claude subscription; reference checks and statistics need no model at all. MediCrab models need a subscription or extra usage, and we sometimes gift trial credit.

Why does the full-manuscript check need an advanced model?

The main reviewer reads the whole manuscript and makes the judgement calls, so MediCrab only lets advanced models do it and never silently swaps in a weaker one. If a Codex / Claude subscription runs out partway through, a MediCrab model finishes the job and the report says so.

What happens when my usage runs out?

Full-manuscript checks and repairs pause and keep what is already done. You can buy extra usage, wait for the next refresh, or switch to your own API or Codex / Claude. MediCrab does not silently switch the task to a weaker model.

What is extra usage?

A one-time top-up: $20 buys the same usage as one month of Plus, $50 buys 2.5 months’ worth. It is used after your monthly allowance runs out, never expires, and stays available after a subscription ends.

How do I cancel or change plans?

In the app, open Settings → Account & plan → Manage subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then. Payments are handled by Stripe.

Does my own API key go to MediCrab?

No. Requests go from the app to the endpoint you configured and are billed by that provider.
